Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe currently sponsors two Key Clubs. Key Clubs are designed to teach high school kids about the value of community service and to focus them on the positives surrounding them. Key Clubs get kids involved with many community service activities. Many Key Clubbers go on to leadership positions in the Key Club organization and assume leadership positions in other organizations and communities later in life. Typically, we donate about $2000 dollars to support our Key Club activities at South Tahoe High and George Whittell High Schools . Additionally, each schools' outstanding senior Key Club member receives a scholarship for higher education. In 2009 this amount was $4000 per student.
